Karen is a legal innovator, evangelist and advisor with more than 25 years of experience in M&A, corporate governance, corporate finance and corporate strategy. While working in the legal industry, she has developed a passion for problem-solving and enhancing business and legal operations through technology innovation.
Karen is the Co-Founder of Attune Capital Group, a principal investment of which is a transaction analytics tech platform. Karen also founded Frontier of the Law (www.frontierofthelaw.com), a forward-thinking blog that serves as a forum for open discussions about innovation and creativity in the legal profession and beyond.
Karen has more than a decade of legal experience in large law firms, and she has worked on a wide variety of M&A and other commercial transactions, which led to her founding Attune Capital Group in February 2018. By September 2018, Attune Capital Group was selected to be part of the Third Cohort of the LexisNexis® / LexMachina® Silicon Valley Legal Tech Accelerator program. She also serves on the Board of the Harvard Law School Alumni Association of New York.
Karen is also the author of Portrait of the 21st Century Lawyer, a book providing insights into the
varied set of attributes and innovative strategies that lawyers will need to thrive and be successful. Portrait was published by Legal Business World in 2019.
Karen holds a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, a Masters of Applied Economics from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Alma College.
